Elm Island is nestled on Georgian Bay off of the northern tip of Wikwemikong and is only minutes from the Tourist port of Killarney. We are situated a short five minutes from the public launch at Prairie Point and are surrounded by shallows and shoals, so you are always protected by Islands and always near shore. Enjoy the serenity and natural beauty as the majestic bald eagle makes his nesting grounds on the adjacent Island and is often seen fishing the shallows. The surrounding Islands make for great exploration as many of the Islands remain uninhabited and leave behind plenty of artifacts from the fur-trade era.
Our Exclusive Private Island Cottage is ideal for family vacations or small groups. Gishtenhs Place is more than a cottage it’s an Island experience that embraces nature, family and culture to provide life long memories. The Island is equipped with a beautiful 8 x 8 detached bathroom complete with odourless composting flush toilet. The shower house offers instant hot water via our heated propane shower unit. (eco-friendly soaps provided) All of our guest’s receive fresh drinking water via two 5 gallon water tanks that can be re-filled when needed.
